One of my favorite pics!

This has to be one of my favorite pics of my 1979 Bayliner Buccaneer sailboat in its slip at Salem Lake. Checkout the teardrop design. This shape increases agility, stability, and speed. In fact, I downloaded this picture to my Blackberry desktop background to remind me of why I work so hard and what I want to do when the wind is blowing. One day I will have complete freedom of my time with the leverage FHTM provides. Since the resurrection, I have installed new halyards for the mainsail, and jib, new jib trackslides/blocks, new docking lines with electrical tape to mark precise cleat placement, fluorescent yellow twin tip pvc slip identifiers and new traveller lines. I have also installed several cam cleats to secure all lines to improve cockpit managment including two to raise and lower the mainsail and jib from the cockpit and two to secure the tiller to serve as an autopilot. My friend David Hatcher, who own a Rhodes 19 at Salem Lake, suggested using cassette tape rather than yarn for the tell-tales since these are impervious to water. I did not have any old cassette tapes so Shelia brought me an old Barney VCR tape of Tanner's. I think these work better because have a larger diameter making them easier to see the wind direction and makes jibe and tack maneuvers more precise. This is important at Salem Lake because the wind is so variable. See twin black tell-tales on port and starboard cable shrouds. Yes, my boat does float and it actually sails!
